Are Ready-to-Eat Indian food products unhealthy?

First of all, I must clarify that ready-to-eat Indian food products are hygienically processed and packed taking into consideration all international standards. So, definitely they are not unhealthy though they might be compromised slightly on nutrition. Frozen rotis are not good so its better to avoid them. Freshly baked rotis are advisable if you are able to get your hands on them. Rice is ok only if you are draining the excessive starchy water after cooking. In case of Ready-to-Eat products they are made in the same way the food is made at home, the only thing that is different in the product which enhances the product life is the packaging technology which is retort packaging. Retort packaging is a new kind of packaging which prevents the bacteria to grow overtime inside the food product. Also to top it up few companies fill in nitrogen in order to be absolutely safe as nitrogen acts as a safe preservative which hinders bacterial growth in food.

Eating out at Subway on regular basis is also not healthy. If you have access to a kitchen - nothing better than cooking for yourself. For one, the satisfaction that one gets out of appreciating one's efforts is incomparable. I have an experience in Toronto, Canada where a tiffin service provider Food Monks delivers home-style food, if you are residing or planning to travel to Toronto area you should try them.
